One of the highlights of the choral festival is the opportunity for choirs to sing in different venues throughout Sligo town on Saturday and Sunday. These fringe events in pubs, shopping centres, local businesses and churches along with the Festival Club provide opportunities for choirs to experience the hospitality of the people of Sligo in a relaxed musical environment. The festival provides a wonderful occasion for visiting choirs to experience the vibrant community spirit underpinning the programme and festival events. It is in these fringe experiences where, some say, the “real singing” is done!! No doubt, many choirs will entertain shoppers on the Saturday and will enhance the various religious services on the Sunday morning.
